Hidden Survivors có 2 chế độ chơi chính là Scavenge và Discover, với mục tiêu xây dựng nên một chỗ trú ẩn cho riêng bạn và chiến đấu để sinh tồn.

Bạn có thể thám hiểm các địa điểm khác nhau và thu nhặt các nguồn tài nguyên, bao gồm cả thực phẩm và đồ uống. Đây là những điều quan trọng cần thực hiện, vì bạn có ba thông số khác nhau mà bạn phải giữ nhân vật luôn đầy đủ : no bụng, nước và cuối cùng là tinh thần.

Các loại thức ăn sẽ giúp bạn no bụng, trong khi nước uống lo cho khía cạnh độ ẩm. Tinh thần hoạt động như thanh máu của bạn, game over nếu nó đổ xuống 0. Nếu tất cả các người sống sót đều bị chết thì bạn cũng game over.

Bạn còn có thể mang về những nhân vật phụ khác trên đường, tuy vậy họ sẽ có nhu cầu về thức ăn nước uống riêng mà bạn cần để ý. Tuy vậy với những nguyên liệu mà bạn thu lượm về, bạn có thể theo dõi những nâng cấp để tự tạo nên thứ ăn nước uống trong chỗ ẩn nấp của mình.

Khi nhân vật chính bị hạ gục, bạn sẽ chuyển sang một trong những nhân vật phụ đã đón về chỗ ẩn nấp trước đó, danh bai doi thuong . Nếu tất cả nhân vật đều chết, bạn có thể bắt đầu lại từ đầu nhưng với những nâng cấp của căn cứ được giữ nguyên.

Chế độ còn lại là Explore, là chế độ theo kiểu battle royale với nhiều người chơi khác được thả trong một map nhỏ, với mỗi người chơi sẽ hóa thân thành một món đồ vật khác nhau, nhưng bạn có thể chuyển đổi sang món khác chỉ bằng cách chạm vào nó.

Hidden Survivor là một trò chơi phiêu lưu hấp dẫn và tìm kiếm kết hợp nhiều người chơi theo phong cách Prop-Hunt với các yếu tố sống còn. Nó còn có phong cách thiết kế theo kiểu anime tuyệt đẹp, phần lồng nhạc thôi miên, và cốt truyện bí ẩn.
